Just a Quick One re Johnny & Sandy

Posted by Nance Crawford on November 3, 2012 at 11:50 PM

He faced her down. Obviously did not twirl his rope on the roof. He got out of NJ yesterday. When I spoke to him, earlier today, he was in Tucson, having dinner with friends. Didn't want to interrupt the meal (they served the food as we were talking) because I remember vividly that you do not keep the cowboy from his feed.

I'm so grateful and relieved. Little brothers never seem to cease being a pain (and that may apply to big sisters, too, but Moi?) but it's the only kind of pain worth having (other than one's own kids but that's a different neurosis).

Spent the day at the Ventura Writers Workshop and going back tomorrow. Only a half-hour from my door - and at least one speaker flew in from San Diego! - and met a bunch of really nice folks.

Three hours sleep is catching up with me. David went to the SAG-AFTRA Film Society's screening of Flight! and I don't know if I can wait up, much longer.

Please check out the Indiegogo campaign. Two weeks will be enough time if everyone helps, even if only to forward the message to those they love and trust. There have got to be 4,000 people willing to part with $10 in order to start the ball rolling that will bring smiles to children for generations to come.

Thanks for anything you can do.

Whew ....that was a sigh of relief ...thank you for keeping us up to date on Johnny.

I know there are plenty out there that should/could/would jump in on your Indiegogo project. I for one have jumped in and hope others I have shared with will do the same. I am looking forward to the completion of your vision...
All my best and with most respect....

Thank you so much for the updates on Johnny. Glad he's safe and sound. I, too, have younger brothers and they can be a pain at times. :) But I love 'em.

I am praying and hoping your Indiegogo campaign goes well. I have shared it with others.

Hi, Nance - So very happy to hear that Johnny was okay and made it out safely. I live on LI and the devastation is shocking. Luckily I was only out of power for a few days - getting gas was much more a problem. Thank you for keeping us updated.

As for your indiegogo project, I think it sounds wonderful and will be happy to jump in and get the word out about it!

Wishing you well! P.S. You are so right about "little brothers." :)

Thanks, Linda. It's good to know someone who's gotten through the worst of it. Have to admit I can't look at the photos, anymore. My friend, Jon Berry, told me on Saturday that he grew up there and every time a big storm came in, the basement would flood - it was just part of life. His wife was back there with family, this time, but she and they are okay. We have a friend who was out here and got home just in time, was evacuated out, and when she went to look at her house, it wasn't there. She lost everything and has had to move out of state to be with family. I just can't imagine how awful that must be, to find one's whole lifetime simply swept away.
